Watson Custom Builders Inc.

As the owner and President of Watson Custom Builders, Bob Watson comes from a diverse background of construction skills. Bob started out much like his father, R. L. Watson, a respected builder in Oakland County and now retired, who began in construction and attained the skills to become a master carpenter, carpenter contractor and then a custom builder. Bob was born in the Rochester area in 1958 and moved to Tucson Arizona in 1968 with his mother and family. Returning to Michigan to work with his father during summer vacations, Bob developed a strong work ethic and various skills, realizing his potential in the construction industry.

After high school Bob returned to Michigan to work with his father, a patient teacher who assured that the skills taught were mastered. Bob learned from the best trades people, builders, and architects in the area by working on large custom homes, with very precise detail establishing a standard of excellence in the finished project. Bob executed fine custom finish carpentry and framing for several years before starting his own framing company.

From the late 70's through the mid 80's, Bob's company provided meticulous structural carpentry for a number of custom builders in north Oakland and Macomb counties. While working with some of the best designers and architects in the area, Bob developed an appreciation and knowledge of the finer points of design and craftsmanship and pursued that custom approach in his work. Gaining a reputation in the building industry for providing superior quality, Bob was sought after for renovation and addition projects through the recommendations of contractors and clients. After two decades of attaining the skills, knowledge and experience necessary, he began his own building company.

Bob now proudly works on a variety of building projects in Oakland County from small custom renovations and additions to large custom homes, and has a long list of satisfied clients. Bob also builds several spec homes a year demonstrating the same talent and vision he has strived for during his 30-year tenure in the business. Today, Bob lives with his wife Debra in Oakland Township, where they are looking forward to designing and building their own dream home in the near future.

Interests: Motorcycle racing (off-road, moto-cross, road-racing), sport riding, classic/muscle/sports cars, mountain biking, hunting and fishing.

To build for clients who appreciate and desire the skills and knowledge that my years of experience provide in order to successfully realize their building project.
For the process of building to be an adventure and a pleasurable experience for both myself and the customer.
To build strong, lasting relationships with clients, contractors and future associates.
